Présentation de l'événement annuel « Lo Sguardo dei Maestri » par Valentina Cordelli, coordinatrice du projet

 

« Lo Sguardo dei Maestri » est un hommage monographique organisé par trois institutions culturelles du Nord-Est de l'Italie - le « Centro Espressioni Cinematografiche » à Udine (connu pour son Far East Film Festival), « La Cineteca del Friuli » à Gemona (qui organise le Pordenone Silent Film Festival), et « Cinemazero » à Pordenone – conjointement avec l'Université de Udine et l'Université de Trieste.

Créé en 1998, cet événement met chaque année en lumière un réalisateur qui a marqué l'histoire du cinéma, en projetant une riche sélection de ses films et en organisant un colloque international, qui se tient alternativement à Udine et à Pordenone. Les actes du colloque sont publiés sous forme de livre (édité par Il Castoro, Milan), souvent utilisé comme manuel dans les universités italiennes. Depuis sa création, les hommages de « Lo Sguardo dei Maestri » ont été consacrés à Bresson, Buñuel, Tati, Ophüls, Dreyer, Fellini, Bergman, Welles, Resnais, Mizoguchi, Losey et Godard.
 

Lo Sguardo dei Maestri is a monographic tribute staged by three cultural agencies of the North-East of Italy - Centro Espressioni Cinematografiche in Udine (well known for its Far East Film Festival), La Cineteca del Friuli in Gemona (organizers of Pordenone Silent Film Festival) and Cinemazero in Pordenone - jointly with the Università degli Studi di Udine and Università degli Studi di Trieste.

Started in 1998, the event focuses each year on one director that has left a mark in the history of cinema, thus screening a rich selection of the filmography by the chosen master, and organizing an international conference, alternatively hosted in Udine or Pordenone. The proceedings of Lo Sguardo dei Maestri are published in a book (edited by Il Castoro, Milan) often used as textbook in various Italian universities. So far the tributes of Lo Sguardo dei Maestri have been devoted to Bresson, Buñuel, Tati, Ophüls, Dreyer, Fellini, Bergman, Welles, Resnais, Mizoguchi, Losey and Godard.
